Lead Designer

The Role


As creative lead, you’ll manage the creative design team to ensure ideation, conception and resulting creation is innovative no matter how big or small the brief.  Our content needs to instantly grab the attention of our digital first beauty savvy customers whilst meeting our storytelling and commercial objectives.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead the creative design team, to produce best in class content that meets the objectives of the briefs
  • Spark creativity with effective and motivating leadership
  • Work as senior peer within the wider creative department, alongside a studio team and Art Director to produce the content, own brand creative team and projects traffic manager
  • Be a hands-on member of the creative team who leads, but also gets stuck into the detail, working on a variety of briefs as part of daily tasks
  • Be a key stakeholder in strategising both brand and commercial campaigns, delivering novel creative concepts whilst ensuring consistency of content throughout all touch points and executions

Person Specification

  • A creative design professional with the ability to turn ideas into something exceptional
  • Comfortable working on all aspects of a creative project lifecycle – Strategising, running design workshops, mediating focus groups, storyboarding, concept creation, content creation, final delivery and evaluation
  • Experience in managing and mentoring teams of creatives
  • A strong portfolio
  • Previously worked in or can demonstrate an understanding of a retail environment
  • Understand the importance of the balance between commercial and brand objectives
  • A confident and clear communicator who is comfortable challenging opinion
  • Collaborative working style comes naturally
  • Advance level in Adobe Creative Suite
